Jerk, California by Jonathan Friesen
Sam Carter is a sufferer of the Tourette's Syndrome. He was victim of bullying throughout his highschool days because of his tics and outbursts that come from his condition. Sam feels rejected by his stepfather, Bill who has told him many stories about his neglectful father who gave Sam his disorder through his faulty genes. Now Sam is about to graduate from high school. He has no prospects, no college dreams, no future to look forward to. But when he start to work for George the Coot, things start to change. He learns the truth about his father, he start to discover himself and is ready to take an automobile travel to find answers. This is a novel shaped with tension, romance and hope in the quest for self-identity, the truth and little love and acceptance along the way.
